Voulez Vous
Ah ha… Ah ha… I feel like it has been way too long since I reviewed a Tipple Box. And this totally isn’t through choice. Imagine having no time to drink? What a life burden. I have had a drink on a few occasions, but none of these were quite right for the Tipple Box. Tipple Box time is special. It’s like an event. I did a giveaway for January’s Tipple Box because its cocktails were a Bloody Mary and a Moscow Mule, two drinks which I am never going to enjoy, nor will I pretend to. But life handed me time this weekend. So I got boozy floozy and found a new love. Himself didn’t join me for said cocktails. Instead, he tipped back leftover Bud Lights from his 30th last weekend. But I was feeling it. So I got out the shaker and went cuckoo whilst he looked on in justified concern.
Breakfast Martini
This months box heavily featured Edinburgh Gin, which is never going to be a bad thing. In fact, I was quite smug with my miniature gin army. The two cocktails included in February’s box were a Breakfast Martini and a French Gin Martini. I’m not entirely sure whether people drink breakfast martinis at breakfast. Surely not?! I would be walking backward in Spanish if I sipped on those early morning rockets. I’m assuming it’s named a Breakfast Martinis due to its citrus, marmalady flavours. And although it was not breakfast time, it was certainly martini time. Unfortunately, this was waaaaaay too bitter for my sensitive tongue-buds. I think I could enjoy this if I was on a beach in Mexico and I had just come back from a 2-mile backstroke in the sea. But I was sitting in Aberdeenshire rattling with the cold, not feeling particularly citrus.
French Gin Martini Recipe
However, February’s Tipple Box gave me a French fancy. I am LOVIN’ a French Gin Martini. If you like a fruity cocktail with a kick, this is your bag. I feel this would be the perfect Summer tipple but I’m so not season-discriminating. In fact, I would put it in my top 5. And if I hadn’t had my Tipple Box, I may never have known this existed. And that would have been an abomination. Fancy making your own? Check it out.
